The project, which is valued at almost AU$100m (拢66m), will improve road and rail access to meet the growing use of the port and planned future expansion.
The project involves the realignment of 1.8km of road leading into the port, the diversion of 1.3km of existing railway under the main port access road and the construction of two bridges.
John Holland group managing director Glenn Palin said: 鈥淭he project will enable us to build our presence along the south coast of the state, with the establishment of a local office and the development of relationships with local subcontractors allowing us to position well for additional future investment in public infrastructure, particularly in transport and in social infrastructure.鈥
