Over 500 customers, suppliers and employees attended the event as well as famous faces from the Gloucester Rugby team of which Jewson is the main sponsor.
The Jewson Gala Dinner was held at a venue that dates back as far as Jewson - Brunel's Old Station in Bristol. The event was supported by Gloucester Rugby Club with Head Coach Bryan Redpath and players Mike Tindall and Luke Narraway attending. During the evening the group helped to raise vital funds for Barnardo’s by auctioning off some exclusive items donated by Gloucester Rugby Club.Â
"This year marks a very special year for Jewson," commented Peter Hindle MBE, Managing Director of Jewson. "Not only have we celebrated 175 years in the industry but we have also launched our new ‘together’ charity partnership with Barnardo's.
Since the launchemployees, suppliers and customers have taken the campaign to heart and worked together to show great creativity and commitment. The Gala Dinner raised a fantastic £35,000 bringing our total to date to over £140,000, an amazing amount in today's tough economic climate. As well as raising funds, we have also been able to put our core skills and expertise to good use - this includes helping in the development of a new construction training centre for disadvantaged young people in Stourbridge in the West Midlands.
Our thanks go to everyone for their wonderful generosity this year and we look forward to raising more funds and helping with more projects in the future."Â
