Jewson to supply Scottish universities and colleges

27 Jan 12 Following a tender exercise undertaken through APUC, Jewson has been appointed as a supplier on the building materials and timber purchasing framework agreement.

In addition to supplying building materials, Jewson has already extended its offering to include product training sessions, work experience opportunities and branch tours for students taking construction related courses.

APUC (Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges) is the procurement centre of expertise for universities and colleges in Scotland and is responsible for establishing collaborative purchasing frameworks for the sixty higher and further education institutions across Scotland. It is a not for profit organisation wholly owned by the institutions.

As the first ranked supplier on both the Building Materials and Timber Materials Framework Agreement, Jewson can offer an immediate source of supply of various building materials from a number of branches across Scotland.聽 All branches can now supply Chain of Custody certified timber and work to ISO 14001 accreditation.

In addition to the standard supply of products, Jewson has been providing an added value service whereby students from the universities and colleges in Scotland can benefit from product training sessions and branch tours that allows them to gain hands-on experience outside of the classroom.

Since the framework began Jewson, and its sister brand Graham has already welcomed numerous groups of students through its doors in Glasgow.
