The policy now covers glass and windscreens as standard with a flat 拢75 excess. Previously it was only covered if it was damaged as part of a bigger accident and was subject to the main policy excess. 鈥淭o the best of our knowledge, no one else offers this,鈥� said general manager Michael Gregory. 鈥淭he cost of the policy has not increased at all as a result of the additions.鈥�
Also new is loss of keys and replacement locks cover. 鈥淎s the construction equipment industry starts to respond to the theft problem by fitting unique transponder keys and locks and keypads etc., we feel there is now a need to offer this cover in line with the automotive sector as they would be potentially expensive to replace if stolen or damaged,鈥� said Mr Gregory. 鈥淎lso, the machine would be at risk from theft using the stolen keys at a later date. So, we've added the cover with just a 拢75 excess, just like a car policy.鈥�
海角社区app, whose insurance extends to all makes of plant and not just 海角社区app machines, has also built in a number of optional extras including annual statutory inspection of the machine from just 拢40, loss of use cover giving up to 拢750 per week to hire in another machine in the event of theft or damage, and third party working risk cover for 拢120. Also new is the option of cover for motor legal expenses, at a price of 拢10.
