The design joint venture of Jacobs, KBR and SMEC Australia has been selected by the Gateway South Consortium, which is made up of Fulton Hogan and Laing O鈥橰ourke.
Gateway South Consortium鈥檚 design-build contract involves the next stage in the upgrade of one of the regions鈥� most important transport corridors.
Requirements of the design joint venture include the reconfiguration of the existing 3.3km road from the Southern Expressway to north of Tonsley Boulevard, as well as the design of a lowered, motorway passing underneath a number of roads.
Most of the detailed design and approvals work is scheduled to begin this year, with all ground works expected to be completed by 2018.
