The service has been developed from experience gained on a pilot scheme with Willmott Dixon on a Passivhaus project being delivered for Camden Council.
Jablite UK sales manager Simon Cox explained: 鈥淲illmott Dixon has a zero-to-landfill target and they approached us at an early stage in the project planning to see if the cut-offs from the installation process could be recycled.
鈥淲e were pleased for the opportunity to work with them on this. It has proved to be a useful learning process putting us in a position to confidently launch our own recycling scheme.鈥�
To keep the small site tidy and to minimise the space taken up storing the material, Jablite Innovations provided lightweight, hooded bags with Jablite branding. The installers could pull these bags around with them and put the cut offs straight into them as they worked.
聽鈥淭his ensured the material was kept clean and could be recycled back into new insulation board,鈥� Mr Cox said.
To minimise transport, new empty bags were brought to site at the same time as full ones were removed. 聽鈥淲e wanted to make sure that we minimise the environmental impact and keep the scheme economically viable for us and for our customers,鈥� Mr Cox said.
