Occupying the site of a former factory building, the regeneration scheme sees the construction of both mews and three-storey stacked maisonette properties, ranging in size from two to five bed configurations. Designed by Inglis Badrashi Loddo Architects (IBLA) and already shortlisted for the prestigious Housing Design Awards 2011, the development will be built using a Thin Joint Masonry construction technique. The new homes will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes level three performance rating and the development incorporates roof mounted photovoltaic cells to generate a minimum of 10 per cent renewable energy. Architectural finishes include a bold red coloured render and extensive use of timber boarding. A triangular-shaped green space is incorporated into the design of the new development, which is scheduled for completion in spring 2012.
