Courtroom work for ISG

20 Dec 12 ISG has won a new framework contract with the Ministry of Justice for courtroom imporvements.

The contractor has been appointed to the construction framework for court secure docks, which is a four-year deal for the provision of secure dock facilities in courtrooms across England and Wales.

It follows ISG鈥檚 reappointment earlier this year to the MoJ鈥檚 strategic alliance agreement framework for construction for another six years.

The highly bespoke nature of each courtroom installation was a key driver in the MoJ鈥檚 decision to create a framework for a small number of specialist contractors with the expertise to deliver complex, fast-track projects nationally. The work is needed, in part, to bring courts into compliance with the latest Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements.

ISG Fit Out and Retail managing director Darren Hill said:鈥淭his second framework appointment with the MoJ highlights ISG鈥檚 core understanding of the specific client requirements and protocols within secure environments. The delivery challenges here are comparable to those within the retail and financial services sectors and we bring this expertise and experience to the secure docks framework.

聽鈥淭he individual nature of each project, allied to the fast-track turnaround, makes the pre-construction phase critically important to the success of each installation. This is where our in-house capability proves especially advantageous, as we can deploy a dedicated team of professionals at an early stage and successfully plan each scheme well in advance to ensure a successful outcome.鈥
