The first contract involves rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Waikiki sewer. Insituform will install its cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) solution in approximately 11.km of 250mm-600mm pipelines in Waikiki. Insituform also will install over 975m of 915mm and 1065mm pipelines for the Makaha interceptor sewer rehabilitation and replacement project.聽
Insituform vice president and general manager Ken Foster said: 鈥淲e have successfully completed approximately 170 projects in Hawaii since the 1980s and are confident that our project experience on the island will allow us to exceed the expectations of the City and County of Honolulu as well as its residents and tourists as we complete this project. Since these projects are located near tourist shopping areas on Waikiki Beach and in residential areas near Waikiki, we expect to perform the installations at night as much as possible. Our focus will be to quickly complete this project in order to minimize any disruption to tourists and local businesses.鈥
Since the 1980s, Insituform has installed more than 90km of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) in Hawaii.
