The hospice has relocated to new purpose-built premises on Titnore Lane and its current complex at Columbia Drive in the Durrington area will be demolished.
Family-owned construction, civil engineering and property services company Osborne has been appointed to undertake the demolition of the old hospice building and the construction of the new homes on behalf of the developer Worthing Homes.
The new development will consist of 24 terraced and town houses, ranging from two-to four-bedroom, and 37 one-and two-bedroom flats. Of the 51 homes, 13 will be for intermediate rent. The flats will be arranged in blocks around a central 鈥榲illage green鈥� of public open space. The houses will be grouped around courtyards outside this area.
Parking will be provided for 68 cars, the majority of it concealed in five courtyard areas behind frontage buildings. The architect is local firm Michael Cook Associates.

Work is has commenced on site and the homes are expected to be complete in February 2013.
