Hill team wins $42.5m LA airport contract

8 Nov 16 A joint venture of Hill International and APSI Construction Management was won a US$42.5m (£34.2m) contract to support a multi-billion-dollar expansion programme at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Hill is a 51% partner in the joint venture five-year which has an option for two additional years. The assignment is the renewal of an existing contract.

Client for the scheme is Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), a department of the City of Los Angeles.聽 The centrepiece of the programme is the New Tom Bradley International Terminal project, which includes new gate and concourse areas and a hall for luxury dining and retail.聽 In addition, there are several major airfield and facility projects under way that are part of the development programme.

"We are extremely honoured that LAWA has selected the Hill/APSI team to support their capital improvement program," said Michael B Smith, senior vice president and western regional manager for Hill's project management group.聽 "This new contract is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our project team members on our existing contract.鈥
