The four-year task order involves the provision of construction administration and daily oversight during the demolition and construction phases of the Clifton Car Repair Shop, which was damaged during 2012's Superstorm Sandy.聽
The project consists of the demolition of the existing buildings, construction of a new facility and landscaping and the necessary coordination between the design-build and in-house teams to perform the necessary outdoor track work.
The new three-storey railcar repair shop will have a total built-up area of approximately 8,000m2.
"These improvement projects will help mitigate the city's infrastructure risk with hurricane-resilient facilities," said John Milano, senior vice president and northeast regional manager for Hill's project management group.
