Hewlett Civil Engineering collapsed into administration in 2013 and re-emerged, phoenix- like, as Hewlett Construction, a new business owned by managing director Alan Cooper.
Now Hewlett Construction has also gone under. Administrators from Sheffield-based insolvency specialist P&A have been appointed.
In a statement P&S said: "John Russell and Ashleigh Fletcher of The P&A Partnership in Sheffield were appointed administrators of Hewlett Construction Limited on 28 May 2015. The company based in Leeds with other offices throughout the UK had 140 employees. The administrators are currently assessing the companies affairs and will report to creditors in due course."
Ucatt regional secretary Rob Morris said: 鈥淯catt is seeking urgent answers from the administrators concerning the future of the company. We will be doing everything possible to preserve our members鈥 jobs.鈥
After early difficulties, by February 2014 Alan Cooper said that all 拢1.5m of debts had been cleared and the business was trading profitably. In the year to March 2015 group turnover topped 拢40m, up from 拢25m the previous year.
Meanwhile BDO, which handled the administration of the original Hewlett Civil Engineering, said that it was still in the process of concluding that firm鈥檚 liquidation.
