Hewden quits site huts

9 Dec 15 Hewden has sold its entire portable accommodation business to Wernick Group for an undisclosed sum.

Wernick鈥檚 purchase includes Hewden鈥檚 4,000 units and four hire centres.

Wernick chairman David Wernick said: 鈥淭his is another exciting part of the continual expansion of the Wernick Group, with 拢35m invested in 2015 alone. These units are a fantastic addition to the Wernick fleet, and we look forward to continuing to provide a high quality service for Hewden鈥檚 existing customers.鈥

This 拢35m includes amounts spent internally by Wernick to expand its hire fleet, as well as a recent 拢3m on a new site in York to support the Wernick Refurbished Buildings business. It has also moved its manufacturing plant in South Wales to a new larger eight-acre site with an investment of 拢4m.

In 2012 Wernick paid more than 拢11m for Kier鈥檚 temporary accommodation business.

Last week A-Plant bought McCarthy & Stone鈥檚 fleet of site accommodation units.

Last year Hewden produced this promotional video on its huts business.
