GMI has started work on site to develop the site fronting Greek Street and Bond Court in Leeds and is expected to take 18 months to complete.
Leeds City Council granted planning permission for the demolition of a former 鈥榮tacker鈥 car park and adjacent restaurant to make way for the new hotel.
The 10-storey, 90 bedroom hotel forms part of Evans鈥 拢20m investment plans for the Bond Court area of Leeds. The first phase of the investment was completed late last year with the refurbishment of neighbouring office buildings, Minerva and Capitol, to create more than 4,600m2 of office space.
GMI Construction managing director Andy Bruce said; 鈥淔ollowing on from our recent work on the Capitol office building for Evans, we are delighted to be working with the team again to deliver another important piece of the Bond Court transformation. The design and prominence of the hotel will make it an excellent addition to the Leeds leisure offering and we are looking forward to bringing it to life.鈥
