The suspended outdoor swimming pool in the sky is planned for Embassy Gardens – the residential heart of London’s newest neighbourhood at Nine Elms in Vauxhall.

The transparent ‘Sky Pool’ will link two residential buildings at the 10th storey. It will be 25 metres long and five metres wide. The structure, made of 200mm-thick acrylic, will be three metres deep with a water depth of 1.2 metres. It has been designed by Arup Associates, with specialist input from Eckersley O’Callaghan and aquarium designers Reynolds.

The pool is the vision of Sean Mulryan, chairman and CEO of Ballymore Group, co-developer of Embassy Gardens together with Eco World. Together they are developing the second phase as Eco World Ballymore.

The buildings linked by the pool are part of the second phase of the development which will be released to market in September, soon after the first residents have started to move in following the completion of phase one.
