From helping pupils with interview techniques, to supporting and delivering work experience placements, the programme aims to equip students with the right skills to prepare themselves for, and to find, work experience - and ultimately help them gain employment.
The full interactive day included constructing a giant tetrahedron (pictured) to demonstrate the importance of working as a team and overcoming challenges and was devised by BAM's Eleanor Radville, Education Co-ordinator for London and the South East regions who has worked extensively with the community and businesses in north London.
BAM鈥檚 Ready Steady Work programme was first launched last year. Its success was officially recognised when聽the company received the Business in the Community, Work Inspiration Award. The award is given for providing young people with a meaningful and relevant experience of the world of work.
Its contract to deliver South Camden Community School andAdelaide Road Schools means聽the company has worked on around 140 buildings in Camden in 140 years, and brought many millions of pounds to the area in local contracts and thousands of jobs for its people.
