GGR Group, which primarily sells and hires mini cranes and glass pane handling equipment, entered the telehandler market in 2020, with the UK distribution rights to the Italian-made Faresin 6.26 battery-powered telehandler. It has since gone on to offer Faresin鈥檚 full diesel and electric range.
Gareth Baxendale joined GGR in October 2022 after seven months with powered access supplier JLG, before which he worked for Gunn 海角社区app. He started his career with WH Malcolm Group in 2002, moving from logistics to materials handling with Cooper Material Handling in 2012, before making the move to construction sales with Gunn 海角社区app in 2017.
He said of his new job: 鈥淚t is exciting to be involved with products that are cutting through and challenging the status quo within the industry. I have had my eye on the Faresin telehandlers for some time, especially since they appeared to burst on to the scene from nowhere back in 2020 with their six-metre electric.
鈥淭here is a huge buzz around electric plant in construction at the moment but it is still very early days. The main challenges that we face is overcoming the perception of electric plant and questions relating to the charging infrastructure on today鈥檚 construction sites.
鈥淭here is a lot of misinformation out there, especially relating to the capability of 100% electric powered products. With the developments that Faresin have made to their battery technology, we know the capacity is there. The introduction of an intelligent charging system, exactly the same as you will find on a road vehicle, means that we are also leading the way towards a standardised, accepted and accessible method of charging too.鈥
GGR marketing & special products director Daniel Ezzatvar added: 鈥淕areth joins us at a time where we are coming to the market with the next wave of innovation. These products have become established over the past couple of years and we鈥檙e now gearing up for growth with the appointment of key personnel and a focus on service and support.鈥
