Frameworks boost for Eric Wright

17 Feb 15 Eric Wright Civil Engineering (EWCE) has secured places on three more local authority frameworks, bringing to its total council framework portfolio to 12.

The latest appointments are with Bolton, Salford and Lancashire.

The contractor has been appointed as a framework civil engineering contractor by Bolton Council for highways works up to the value of 拢2m. The two-year framework comprises four lots in total and EWCE is one of three companies that can now bid for higher value highway works across the borough.

EWCE has already secured three projects for Bolton through the framework with a combined value of 拢1m, involving two re-surfacing schemes and a cycle path renewal contract.

Salford City Council has appointed EWCE to its two-year higher value highways and structures framework. The contractor has secured two schemes totalling 拢1m, including a project to repaint the Barton swing bridge in Old Trafford.

EWCE has also secured a place on a four-year Lancashire County Council framework for civils improvements to schools and public buildings valued between 拢25,000 and 拢150,000. The company has so far been awarded two projects involving car park improvements at primary schools.

EWCE senior director Adrian Taylor said: 鈥淭hese three appointments continue our strong performance in being selected for framework arrangements. We have been particularly successful with local authority frameworks and have 12 currently in place with councils including Cheshire East, Manchester, Bradford and Blackburn with Darwen.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an approach that works for EWCE from a business planning and recruitment point of view and one that is clearly also increasingly a preferred procurement route for the public sector, so we envisage further framework appointments over the course of the year.鈥
