Hickton has been bought for 拢2m by newly incorporated RAM, which is 55% owned by diversified industrial group CEPS (Chelverton Equity Partners) and 20% by Hickton managing director Tony Mobbs. RAM has been formed specifically to acquire Hickton.
Hickton Consultants was established in 1991 by Tony Hickton, who retired for several years although had remained chairman of the business. 聽聽
Tony Mobbs, managing director since 2012, will continue as managing director of Hickton and will be a director of RAM. He was not previously a shareholder in Hickton. The vendors of Hickton are Tony Hickton, members of his family and a number of 聽former employees.聽
In the year ended 28th February 2015, Hickton's sales were 拢2.69m and EBITDA was 拢420,000. At 28th February 2015 net assets were 拢469,000, including a cash balance of 拢361,000.
CEPS owns four other businesses: a direct mail firm in Loughborough, a trophy supplier/engraver in Maidstone, a Lycra supplier in Cheadle and a Northamptonshire body armour company (for biker jackets etc).
