Forrest sows seeds for growth with new regional hub

1 Jul 11 Leading Northern social housing regeneration specialist Forrest has opened a new regional operations hub in Bolton to support its long-term growth strategy.

The office, the former headquarters of contractor Rok, is Forrest鈥檚 sixth to open in the North of England and will help serve its client portfolio across Greater Manchester.

The 22,000 sq ft site will house close to 100 members of the Forrest team and provide locally based customers with access to all of its service lines, including responsive maintenance and micro renewable technologies, from a single source.

The 拢52 million turnover business plans to open a further regional operations hub in Merseyside later this year to complement the existing centre in Bolton, followed by the relocation of the existing teams in Yorkshire to a third regional operations hub based in Leeds.

Forrest, which employs over 500 people, manages 48 formal partnering contracts and refurbishes or maintains over 20,000 homes per annum throughout the North of England.

In its most recent annual trading statement the firm announced that it had increased its workforce by 10 per cent while also growing sales by six per cent.

The business, which was founded in 1955, says its continued investment in infrastructure, training and new technologies was helping it to capitalise on growing demand for carbon reduction as well as essential maintenance work.

Lee McCarren, chief executive at Forrest, said: 鈥淭he social housing sector remains incredibly strong with the majority of landlords operating on long term asset management plans and committed to investing in their estate throughout their life cycles.

鈥淕reater Manchester is a key market for us in particular where we already look after thousands of properties. Our new Bolton hub will offer social landlords from across the region access to all of our services under a single roof.

鈥淲e鈥檙e confident that we can continue to grow across the North by continuing to establish longstanding client relationships and provide multiple service lines within framework agreements.鈥
