Andrew Jackson is expected to offer strategic input to Owen Pugh, including advice on business development opportunities and internal processes and structures. He is also tasked with coaching and mentoring key staff members and promoting the activities of Owen Pugh.
Mr Jackson spent 27 years with Laing O鈥橰ourke and John Laing Construction, where he led the growth of the company鈥檚 business unit in the north, building it into a 拢800m operation with 1,000 staff, before transforming a Canada-based start-up within the group into a 拢230m business in three years.聽 He left in November 2014 and joined construction and consultancy organisation Mace.
He will combine his duties at Owen Pugh with his current day job as a director at Mace.
Mr Jackson said: 鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be joining Owen Pugh, which has delivered some exciting projects and is playing a major role in the regeneration of the northeast. I hope to use my experience to help the firm win more work, gain access to new markets and expand further in the coming years.鈥
Over the past 10 years Owen Pugh has more than doubled to around 拢40m, with staff numbers rising to more than 400.
