The LTM 1250-5.1 is a 250-tonne class crane on five axles. It is Horizon鈥檚 11th crane and its second Liebherr.
A key feature of the new arrival is its VarioBase system, which allows the outriggers to be set up asymmetrically if there鈥檚 not much space and the crane鈥檚 computer automatically recalibrates lifting capacity accordingly.
It also has VarioBallast, where the counterweight can be pushed back to increase capacity or pulled in if space is restricted.
Horizon managing director Steven Dougall said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to take delivery of the UK鈥檚 first LTM 1250-5.1 and are looking forward to seeing our clients put the very strong lifting duties of this crane to use in the wide range of operations that its variable counterweight tailswing will make possible. It also has the benefit of VarioBase so will come into its own where space is restricted making it a very useful addition to our fleet.鈥�
