Anglo-Spanish joint venture Mace Dragados (MD JV) has a 拢1.3bn contract to build what should eventually be the London terminus for the High Speed 2 rail line.
It is seeking Tier 2 subcontractors to build the main substructure at the station. This includes packages for piling, earthworks and reinforced concrete.听
MD JV is also looking for a subcontractor to deliver the main systems and the mechanical, electrical & plumbing (MEP) packages for the station.
It is projected that these new contracts will support the 3,000 jobs that will be filled at peak to construct the new Euston station.
The packages available are:
- Main systems packages (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
- Year 2 (2023): London Underground (LU) station substructure packages, LU station tunnelling packages; HS2 station superstructure
- HS2 station specialist systems
- Year 3 (2024): HS2 station roof & envelope packages
- Year 4 (2025): HS2 station & LU station fit-out and architectural packages.
Andy Swift, HS2 project client for Euston, said: 鈥淥ur work to deliver HS2鈥檚 London terminus station at Euston will really ramp up over the next few years. We have been preparing the area for the construction of the new station, which will transform the Euston area, including delivering improved connections with the London Underground. We encourage businesses big and small to bid for these packages, and we are proud of the role that HS2 is playing in helping boost the UK economy after covid.鈥
MD JV took over the Euston site in 2020 and has already completed piling for the west wall of the station.
Mace Dragados JV deputy delivery director Paul Leighton said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e looking for our suppliers to not only provide us with skilled team members that will help us grow in size and capability, but to bring ideas and innovations that will help us set standards in the industry.鈥
