However, output in the Eurozone was down by 0.9% compared to August and by 0.3% across the 28 countries of the EU (EU28) according to latest estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
The monthly statistics for member states with available data show the largest decreases were in Italy (-3.9%), Slovakia (-3.1%) and Portugal (-2.2%), and the highest increases in Slovenia (+4.0%), Poland (+3.3%) and Sweden (+3.1%)
In terms of the annual comparison, the highest increases in production in construction were recorded in the Netherlands (+7.8%), Sweden (+6.1%) and Spain (+3.9%), and the largest decreases in Slovakia (-17.9%), Poland (-16.1%) and Hungary (-13.2%).
