It has already been financing rural road development in Ethopia since 1997, investing 鈧�400m.
鈥淭he result achieved in the road sector is remarkable,鈥� said Antonio Capone, second secretary of and head of infrastructure section at the EU. 鈥淭he country鈥檚 road network has increased from 26,000km in 1997 to almost 100,000km.鈥� The condition of road network has also improved substantially, he said, with the proportion of road network in good condition increasing from 22% in 1997 to 70% in 2014.
