With flood defence work, the 拢1.5bn upgrade to the A14 in Cambridgeshire, the expansion of the Port of Felixstowe and a new 拢450m renewable energy park near Peterborough, Emmitt Plant is seeing demand grow for hire equipment.

Its Kubota purchase comprises five KX71-3 excavators, four of the KX080-4a and the U17-3a plus an U48-4 and a KX016-4. Its total fleet is now more than 140 machines.

Emmitt Plant managing director Ron Chidgey said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see the huge investment that is going into infrastructure projects within the region. This not only provides more jobs for local workers, but also increases the need for equipment that is reliable and performs to the highest standards.

鈥淲e have been using Kubota excavators since the early 1990s and the fact that we鈥檙e still adding the manufacturers machines to our fleet nearly 30 years later is a great testament to the quality of the equipment. The dependability, ease of maintenance and performance of the machines will play a vital role in the continued growth of the construction sector within the east of England.鈥

Hosplant has been supplying Kubota mini excavator in Essex and East Anglia since 2011.
