Design unveiled for world’s tallest rollercoaster

17 Nov 14 The developers of the Skyscraper - the world’s tallest roller coaster - have unveiled the track design for the ride, which is set to open in 2017 in Orlando, USA.

Skyscraper鈥檚 observation deck will offer views 163m from the ground and will be accessible by the region鈥檚 tallest glass elevators.

The rollercoaster will be the anchor attraction for the US$250m (拢160m) Skyplex indoor entertainment complex, which was designed by HHCP and will be constructed by Euforria, a construction management division of Winter Park Construction, based in Florida. 聽The track design was revealed by David and Joshua Wallack, father-son owners of Mango鈥檚 Tropical Caf茅 South Beach, Mango鈥檚 Tropical Caf茅 Orlando and Skyplex.

Skyscraper is also described as 鈥榯he world鈥檚 first Polercoaster鈥 and will be tallest structure in Central Florida.

鈥淭he unique design of the coaster means more incredible, heart-pounding inside and outside loops, dives, spirals and inversions in a vertical area than riders have ever before experienced,鈥 said Bill Kitchen, founder of Orlando-based US Thrill Rides and creator of the ride.

鈥淪kyscraper will not only take riders higher than ever before, but also introduce one thrill right after the next - there鈥檚 no 鈥榙own time鈥 on this four minute coaster experience,鈥 said Michael Kitchen, president of US Thrill Rides.

The Skyscraper at Skyplex will be built not far from the soon-to-open Orlando Eye observation wheel. Skyplex will break ground in 2015 and is expected to open in 2017.
