Denne to build new sustainable homes to regenerate Old Harlow

15 Sep 11 Construction company Denne, part of the Leadbitter Group, has commenced the development of 43 affordable homes in Old Harlow, Essex, in partnership with Moat, on behalf of Harlow Council.

Moat is a leading housing association working in the South East, providing high quality homes and services, including support services to people who need assistance to live independently. Denne began foundation work of the new site at Station Road in May 2011.聽

The brand name of this joint venture is MODE, and this first development will be marketed as The Mews at Old Harlow. It will provide a mix of one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses. Twelve units will be offered as social housing rent or shared ownership and the remaining 31 houses will be offered for private sale.

The construction of this development, which was designed by PRP Architects, will achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.

Councillor Russell Perrin, Harlow Council鈥檚 Portfolio Holder for Regeneration & Enterprise, said: 鈥淔orty-three high quality homes will be provided with six houses and six flats becoming new homes for people on the Council鈥檚 housing register. This new development, which is part of our programme to regenerate Harlow鈥檚 neighbourhoods, will be in keeping with the area as we know that this is important to local residents.鈥澛
