The final total of 拢5,713m of new construction contracts signed off during the month was 46% up on the previous month with roughly the same number of contracts recorded.聽聽
Year-on-year, the total value of contracts signed in September 2014 was double that in September 2013, while the number of contracts was up 15%.
Every company in September鈥檚 Top 10 landed 拢100m-worth of contracts 鈥� 鈥渟omething we haven鈥檛 seen for many a year,鈥� said Builders鈥� Conference chief executive Neil Edwards.
Top of the table was Lend Lease. It finalised the 拢750m contract for the mixed use development of part of the Battersea Power Station site and then followed up with a 拢150m new-build deal with Great Portland Estates for a mixed use development in Rathbone Place in London鈥檚 West End.
A 拢745m contract win for the Connect Roads consortium, comprising Balfour Beatty, Carillion and Galliford Try, for the construction of a new ring road in Aberdeenshire helped redress the north-south divide and give Connect Roads second spot in the monthly league table.
In third was Mace, with a 拢400m housing and offices new-build contract at Wood Lane in London鈥檚 White City.
