The 14-storey building at One Angel Square scored 95.16% from the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) 鈥� the highest marks ever recorded.
Built by BAM Construction, the building鈥檚 many environmentally friendly features include: power generated from crops grown on Co-op farms; heating and cooling using air drawn from below the basement and redistributing it at the earth鈥檚 core temperature; and a double skin fa莽ade that acts as a 鈥榙uvet鈥� to insulate the offices in the winter and ventilate it in the summer.
One Angel Square is phase one the NOMA scheme to redevelop 20 acres of the northern part of Manchester city centre.

The building is officially opened by HM The Queen today.
