The contract involves the construction of a 7,000 sq ft office with meeting room facilities.聽 Around 30 BAE Systems personnel will relocate there in November after their existing office on site is demolished.
At a special ceremony last week, Jim Sheridan MP visited the site to lay a commemorative brick and said, "I am delighted to be here today and that BAE Systems is remaining an active part of Bishopton's future. I am sure its plans for the future will be extremely beneficial for the wider community."

The new office incorporates sustainable building materials, low water consumption, fire suppressions systems and monitoring waste on site that will see the building achieving a 鈥淰ery Good鈥 BREEAM rating, the standard used to measure a building鈥檚 environmental performance.
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown to employ over 200 staff at offices in Paisley, covering the West of Scotland, and Edinburgh, covering the East. Around 80% of the company鈥檚 work is repeat business and six out of ten customers have worked with Clark Contracts for five years or more.聽
BAE Systems at Bishopton is on the site of the former Royal Ordnance Factory, which used to manufacture propellants during World War II. The brownfield site, one of the largest in the UK, is currently being regenerated by BAE Systems鈥 Real Estate Solutions team, which has carried out dozens of similar remediation and redevelopment operations.聽
The Environmental Test Facility has facilities to subject military equipment to vibration, heat, cold, damp and other extremes, to ensure it works reliably and safely under all conditions.
