The main role of the CITB鈥檚 council is to advise the new eight-member governing board,
The council is expected to provide advice on the skills challenges facing construction and help shape the organisation鈥檚 future direction. It includes representatives from large construction companies, SMEs, civil engineering firms, and higher education institutions, as well as Unite the Union and the National Trust. Both the new advisory council and the board will be chaired by James Wates.
CITB chief executive Adrian Belton said: 鈥淭his is the next step in CITB鈥檚 transformation. The new council will ensure the voice of representatives from across the industry is clearly heard and they will play a key role in shaping the future of skills for our sector.
