China Railway to build 38km line in Georgia

9 Aug 11 Georgian Railway has awarded a subsidiary of China Railway Construction Corporation a RMB2.19228bn (£208m) design and build contract as part of its modernisation work.

China Railway 23rd Bureau鈥檚 contract area is between Khashuri and聽 Zestaphoni in the middle of Georgia and includes the redevelopment of 18.2km of existing lines and 38.3km of new lines.

Construction will take 55 months.
