Duna-Dráva Cement is paying approximately €230.9m (£165m) for the Croatian operations, which also include assets in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. The deal mainly consists of three cement plants, two aggregate quarries and seven ready-mix plants that together had net sales of approximately US$138m (£88.5m) in 2014.
Rohrdorfer Group’s €160.1m (£114m) purchase of the Austrian operations consists of 24 aggregate quarries and 34 ready-mix plants. The assets had total net sales of approximately US$241m in 2014. In Hungary, Cemex is selling five aggregate quarries and 34 ready-mix plants that together had net sales of approximately US$47m in 2014.
Proceeds obtained from the transactions will be used primarily for debt reduction and for general corporate purposes.
The deals are all expected to close during the fourth quarter of this year.
