Encompassing the 2011/2012 & 2012/2013 rugby football seasons, the sponsorship will see the two organisations working in partnership on a number of initiatives to support young people within the club鈥檚 catchment area.
These initiatives include the creation of a new 鈥榚merging schools player development programme鈥 and greater involvement of London Wasps in the work of the Causeway Foundation. The Causeway Foundation provides assistance to disadvantaged and exceptionally talented young people to help them realise their full potential.
In addition, London Wasps鈥 strength and conditioning staff will create a 鈥榳ellbeing鈥 programme for Causeway staff, covering nutrition, training methods, injury prevention and 鈥榳ellness in the workplace.
Causeway CEO Phil Brown commented: 鈥淭his agreement builds on a strong and well-established relationship between our organisations. As such, it enables us to leverage our combined strengths in extending our existing programmes, providing even more opportunities for young people.鈥
London Wasps owner Steve Hayes added: 鈥淐auseway are long standing sponsors of London Wasps. However, they are more than a sponsor; they are partners who work with us to develop and support the Youth Elite Player scheme. The funding Causeway provides is essential to the club developing the next generation of London Wasps players鈥.
