Supported by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA), and Gleeson Homes has submitted of a validation certificate to Rotherham Council. If and when the council confirms that the site has been remediated, Gleeson Homes will start the first phase of 125 homes to be built at Carlisle Park, on the border of聽 Kilnhurst and聽 Swinton. A total of 381 new homes are eventually planned for the site.
The project is backed by a 拢2.2m loan from the HCA through the Get Britain Building fund.聽
Gleeson Homes group land director Steve Gamble said: 聽鈥淲e are delighted that Carlisle Park is part of 鈥楪et Britain Building鈥.聽 The programme will help us to deliver the first tranche of 125 new homes from an overall scheme of 381 properties which are built and priced to suit local people.聽 The project will also have a positive effect of the wider community with the creation of new jobs, apprenticeship opportunities for local young people and investment back into the local area.鈥
HCA area manager Craig Johns said: 鈥淥ur investment will ensure that a local firm will provide these homes which will help safeguard jobs in South Yorkshire.鈥
The first home will be completed by March 2013 and a sales office will be open from January next year.聽
