The cylindrical pipes used in construction of the panels are well suited to absorbing energy from the sun, as a much greater surface area of each pipe is exposed to any available light. This makes the collectors particularly suitable for maximising solar gain, even at low light intensities, such as during the winter months when the sun is at its weakest.
The fully pre-assembled SKR6 and SKR12 panels have been designed with CPC (Compound Parabolic Concentrator) technology to provide 360掳 absorption of solar energy. In optimum conditions this technology allows the panels to produce up to 60%* of a property鈥檚 hot water, even on days with little sun.
Available in 6 and 12 tube variants, the Buderus solar evacuated tube collectors combine an innovative design with high quality materials to provide environmentally-friendly and reliable low-cost hot water and produce no CO2 emissions once fitted, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of a property.
Depending on the water heating requirement, the fully pre-assembled 6 and 12 tube panels can be flexibly combined to satisfy roof areas of all sizes. For added convenience each of the Buderus collector panels can be attached to the flow and return connection pipes on one side only, providing an installation which is quicker, neater and requiring less pipe work where installations of large arrays are necessary.
Buderus also provides a large range of accessories, allowing the installation of evacuated tube collectors on both pitched and flat roofs, as well as against fa莽ades.
Geoff Hobbs, director of business development at Buderus, Bosch Group commented: 鈥淲ith schemes such as the CRC increasing the need for commercial and industrial stakeholders to closely analyse their energy use and carbon emissions, the market for high-efficiency heating technologies is continuing to grow.
鈥淥ur solar evacuated tube collectors allow contractors and consultants to take advantage of premium solar technology in order to provide low-cost hot water for a variety of customer and site requirements. There is huge potential for this type of technology in the UK, and our growing range of renewable technologies, including our solar thermal offering, is testament to that.鈥
