The Builders’ Conference registered 662 construction contract awards last month from 366 different companies. The total value of deals closed was £4.45bn.
Brookfield Multiplex’s total haul for the month was £363m, with the addition of a £13m contract in the entertainment sector.
Mace was close behind with six contract wins, together worth £356m. The biggest of these was a £300m contract for the construction of a new office block in London’s Leadenhall Street for Henderson Global Investors.
Third place went to BAM, which posted a £336.5m monthly total, thanks largely to BAM Nuttall’s £170m railway refurbishment and repair contract for Stobart Rail between Aberdeen and Inverness.
Kier Group came fourth with a combined total of £246.4m that included a £160m new-build contract for a critical treatment hospital in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
Morgan Sindall once again bagged the award for highest number of contract awards with a haul of 22 and a combined value of £201.8m, giving it fifth place in the table.
Sector-wise, housing and new offices were central to the overall value of new projects in October, delivering £1.2bn and £1.1bn of work respectively.
