North Lincolnshire-based Britcon, part of the Hunt Group of Companies, is anticipating 2016 turnover of 拢40m after strong first half growth.
The 2015 total of 拢27m was lower than its owners expected 鈥渄ue to slower pipeline conversion impacted by the general election鈥.
Britcon managing director Paul Clarkson said: 鈥淔rom late 2015 we saw a surge in opportunity across all key sectors, including energy and renewables, retail, industrial and commercial.聽 Although some projects were delayed, a healthy forward order book has allowed us to invest in the team and resources over the last 12 months to facilitate our expected trading in 2016 and beyond.鈥
Group chief executive Shaun Hunt said: 鈥淏ritcon has an excellent team that continues to make good progress as we emerge from difficult times across the industry.鈥
Key contracts secured in the last six month includes a 拢13.5m contract to deliver a new anaerobic digestion (AD) plant in Dagenham for food waste recycler ReFood (UK) Ltd, a series of new developments, extensions and refurbishment projects valued over 拢10m for Lidl, and contracts worth 拢3.5m for global chemicals business Kemira.
叠谤颈迟肠辞苍鈥檚 Steelwork division, Britcon Engineering Services, accounts for over 拢5.5m of the 拢40m total, having grown 30% on the back of projects in the private commercial and industrial sectors.
