The Hampton by Hilton hotel is being built by CIMC Modular Building Systems. The 201 bedroom pods have been manufactured and assembled in China, then transported to Bristol Airport for assembly on site. The final module has now been craned into place, marking the mid-construction point of the hotel.

Baldwins Crane Hire was entrusted with the lifting work.

The hotel is financed and owned by CIMC and will be managed by Hilton Worldwide under a strategic partnership between Hilton and CIMC. 聽It is expected to open before the end of the year.

Hilton Worldwide senior vice president Patrick Fitzgibbon said: 鈥淐IMC鈥檚 capacity to deliver modular sections of the building to the final hotel site offers an incredible opportunity to overcome many of the challenges faced during construction.

鈥淎longside potential time and cost efficiencies, CIMC鈥檚 ability to provide senior debt to developers using its modular building technique underpins its robust growth model, and we are seeing more and more opportunity for this structure in mature markets such as the UK, and developing economies, most notably in Africa.鈥

CIMC Modular Building Systems global head Karen Liu said: 鈥淭his is a key milestone in the ongoing relationship with Hilton Worldwide and the first of a number of Hilton hotels CIMC will build in 2016.鈥
