The specialist gravel has just been delivered to Shepperton Studios鈥� props department for use in the filming of forthcoming blockbuster 鈥楥lash of the Titan鈥檚 2,鈥� as well as to top visitor attraction, London Zoo, where it is being used to landscape the popular Meerkat enclosure.
Angela Benzie, commercial manager for Breedon Special Aggregates, which produces the specialist material, said: 鈥淲e often get requests from garden and landscape designers to use our gravel, but we鈥檝e never been asked by a film studio before and requests from zoos are very unusual too!聽 People want it because it鈥檚 particularly hard-wearing and, of course, it is only produced at our quarry in Derbyshire.
鈥淭he movie stars and meerkats will be in good company.聽 The same gravel can be found at some of the UK鈥檚 most spectacular gardens, stately homes and historic venues, including Chatsworth House, Althorp House and Stourhead House.鈥�
