The A96 Trunk Road is a key strategic route directly linking Aberdeen and Inverness.
The scheme extends for a length of 1.7 kilometres and involves the removal and replacement of the existing road surface with a Breedon Fibre surface course.聽 Works also include the replacement of existing kerbs with a new combined kerb/drain system, along with other drainage improvements.
Due to the proximity to Inverness and the high volume of traffic, all works are being carried out at night for a period of 28 days from Monday 29 August.聽 A road closure is in force from 7pm to 7am, with a diversion taking all vehicles through Smithton to rejoin the A96 at Smithton Roundabout.
The programme is being overseen by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland.
