With annual sales approaching €300m, the Cork-based contractor was a major beneficiary of the injection of EU money into Irish infrastructure, with recent projects including the Castletown to Nenagh final section of the M7 motorway and Cork’s €87m Opera Lane retail development.
But with the collapse of the Irish economy, work dropped off heavily, and the workforce decreased form several hundred to fewer than 70.
The UK division was closed in May.
