The contract is with Baylite, a subsidiary of the Singapore-based Kuok group, and the building will store data for an American IT company.
Bouygues Energies & Services will be responsible for design, construction and commissioning of the data centre, which will be delivered on a phased basis. The data centre will be built within an existing warehouse with overall floor area of 11,000m2. It will deploy a fresh-air, evaporative cooling technology that will significantly decrease energy and water consumption compared to the typical performance of a data centre on this size.
The facility will consist of six self-contained data halls, all capable of subdivision for maximum flexibility, each with its own dedicated power and cooling systems. The first phase of the data centre will be handed over in June 2017, with completion scheduled for January 2018.
