Bouygues lands €200m contract for Paris skyscraper

12 Apr 16 Bouygues Construction has won a contract to build the Alto Tower, a new skyscraper in the Paris business district of La Defense.

The 鈧200m (拢161m) property development contract is with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). The works will be carried out by Bouygues B芒timent Ile de-France Construction Priv茅e.聽

Bernard Mounier, CEO of Bouygues B芒timent Ile-de-France, said:聽 鈥淭he award of this contract, following 18 months of technical and聽 engineering studies, repays the motivation and hard work of all the teams.聽 By combining their range of skills, we were able to meet our customer鈥檚 expectations. We are very enthusiastic to have the chance to build a new聽 skyscraper in the La D茅fense district.鈥

The Alto Tower, which is being designed by IF Architectes, will be 150m tall and will provide 38 storeys of offices with total floor area of聽 51,000m虏.

It will have a glass-scale facade and an unusual聽 flare shape: the surface area of each floor will range from 700m虏 at the聽 foot of the tower to 1,500m虏 at the top.

It is set to achieve HQE Exceptional and BREEAM Excellent certifications.

The new tower will replace the Les Saisons office building.聽 The project also includes the construction of a car park, shops and a large square, developed with development authority responsible for La D茅fense.

The detailed preliminary design will be completed during 2016. Site works are due to get under way in聽 September, and handover is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.
