Both are finalists in the national Construction Manager of the Year competition.
Organised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the awards recognise the industry鈥檚 top managers and attract entries from across the UK. The winners will be announced in a ceremony hosted by TV presenter Claudia Winkleman at the Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on 13 October.

Frank, who lives in Great Lever, Bolton, is a national finalist in the category for new-build schemes valued at 拢4 million to 拢7 million for his management of the construction of a state-of-the-art primary school in Salford 鈥 Willow Tree Primary School. The new 拢5.87 million purpose-built facility brought together three schools on one site and opened in September 2010. Frank delivered the new school two weeks ahead of schedule, under budget and with zero defects. Frank has worked for Seddon for 25 years after originally joining the firm as an apprentice joiner.
Phil, from Astley Bridge, Belmont, is a finalist in the category for housing schemes valued at under 拢6 million, for his management of the construction of Tulloch Court, a cutting-edge housing scheme for older residents at Marton, Blackpool. Heading up a construction team of more than 70 people, Phil delivered the development under budget by ensuring that the construction methods used reduced waste and unnecessary cost. The project was built to an extremely high standard and involved extensive engagement with the local community and the incorporation of a range of environmentally sustainable initiatives. Phil originally joined Seddon as a 21-year-old bricklayer and has worked for the company for 23 years.
