BESA Scotland is leading the way with the highest ever number of visits to its apprenticeship assessment website recorded during May. This follows the association鈥檚 successful lobbying campaign to have travel funding for apprentices reinstated by the Scottish parliament.
BESA is working with building engineering employers to develop targeted 鈥楾railblazer鈥 apprenticeships in key technical sectors including: installation; service & maintenance; heating and plumbing; ductwork; ventilation hygiene; refrigeration, air conditioning; and heat pumps. It has also started work on developing apprenticeships at higher and degree level.
鈥淎 vocational apprenticeship or training course is the first step on the journey to a fulfilling career,鈥 said BESA training director Tony Howard. 鈥淲e are working closely with employers in our sector to develop and deliver apprenticeships at all levels 鈥 from initial technician grades right up to degree equivalence 鈥 that will meet the industry鈥檚 future skills requirements.鈥
BESA is providing free apprenticeship and levy funding clinics throughout England and has created a Trailblazer section on its website.
