Bardsley wins £11m college contract

21 Nov 19 Tameside College has awarded the contract to build its £11m construction skills centre in Ashton-under-Lyne to Bardsley Construction.

With completion due in December 2020, Tameside鈥檚 construction skills centre will include specialist learning spaces to train plumbers, bricklayers, painters, electricians and joiners.

The two-storey development is the next phase of 鈥榁ision Tameside鈥, the college鈥檚 transformation of its entire estate, which already features Clarendon Sixth Form College, an Advanced Technologies Centre, TCFE and Tameside One.

The new building has been designed by Manchester-based 10 Architect.聽 The college鈥檚 project team also includes Fusion Project Management, Arcadis, Waterman Building Services and Scott Hughes Design.

College principal Jackie Moores said: 鈥淲e are delighted that Bardsley Construction, as a local employer, will build our new construction centre.聽 This building is an important addition to Tameside College for the people of Tameside.鈥
