The VB9 uses a series of electronics to squeeze more juice from the engine. This means that it can run off a smaller engine than other similar-sized lighting towers without compromising metal halide lighting output. This means that it uses less fuel 鈥 up to 拢336 per month less, according to tests.
The 170-litre capacity fuel tank has a running time between refuelling of 340 hours, so it only needs refuelling once a month rather than once a week. Carbon output has been calculated at just 0.7kg/CO虏/hour.
鈥淒ue to the emphasis we place on maintaining and enhancing our environmental values, we always seriously consider the sustainability measures of all the plant and equipment we add into our fleet,鈥漵aid plant manager Andrew Haythorne. 鈥淲e were impressed that the Tower Light VB9 has incorporated many important environmental features without compromising its lighting output or its robust construction.鈥
Tower Light UK Limited, based in Milton Keynes, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Italian manufacturer Tower Light Srl, which is in turn part of the US based Generac Power Systems Group.
